We are a mixed group of around fifty archers from all age groups, we shoot competetively indoors and outdoors, but make sure all of our sessions are relaxed and fun.
The club offers beginners courses to people wishing to take up the sport, please see the Membership and fees page for more details.
During the Summer months we are located at the Old Yardleians RFC Grounds in Shirley, and during the Winter we shoot at Langley School in Olton. You can find directions for both of these sites on the How to find us page.
History
The club, originally called Lucas Bowmen, was established after the war in 1946.
In 1995, after the links with the Lucas Group were broken, the club changed it's name to Solihull Archers. We remain one of the oldest archery clubs in the Midlands.
In recent months, the club has become affiliated to the Grand National Archery Society (GNAS), which is the sports governing body in the United Kingdom. This means that all club members are now eligable to take part in inter-club national competitions.
